1. Laws in effect. These laws apply while anyone is on the EKS site or signed in, including outside of normal opening hours or on field trips.
2. Obey the bell. All students must convene in the democratic hub on hearing the bell.
a. The bell should only be rung for cleaning call end of day special CMs and urgent announcements.
3. Illegal activities. No one can engage in illegal activities on the EKS site or use EKS as a base for illegal activities.
4. Representing EKS. You may not communicate or negotiate in the EKS’s name without permission from The Community Meeting.
5. Facilitating. All organised activities approved by Community Meeting or added to the schedule must have an assigned facilitator who is responsible for organising the activity. This may be an individual or a group such as a committee or club.
a. The facilitator must liaise with the Health & Safety Clerk to complete any necessary risk assessments and the Staffing Committee to ensure any external facilitators have completed the necessary checks and are in the Single Central Record.
b. The facilitator is responsible for notifying the Resource Committee of any changes to the activity affecting the schedule.
c. The facilitator may cancel the activity if the required quota of members is not met.
6. Sign up. Signing up for an activity is a commitment.
a. Once signed up for an activity the member must attend and pay any costs due for the activity, or replace themselves with another member.
b. Sign up activities may be a one-off such as a trip, or maybe ongoing such as a class or course. For ongoing activities sign up is made in blocks and agreed with the facilitator.
c. Where members cannot attend and no costs are due for an activity, it is the responsibility of the member to inform the facilitator. In cases where an activity is missed without letting the facilitator know, the member should get in touch with the facilitator and make an arrangement to fulfil the commitment.
